Basics for this mod
The handful of ideas every other page assumes: power, fluids, machine screens, sides, upgrades and how Enthalpy fits a pack.
If you've played a tech pack before, most of this will be familiar. Skim it for the words Enthalpy uses, then get building.
Power and fluids#
- FE is the power every machine runs on, and FE/t is FE per tick; a second is 20 ticks. Any mod's cables and batteries that carry FE work with Enthalpy.
- mB measures fluids: a bucket is 1,000 mB. Any mod's pipes carry Enthalpy's fluids.
- Engines make FE and push it out of their front; machines take it in from any side. Put an engine's front against a machine and it's powered, no cable needed.
Every machine has the same screen#
Four tabs: Main (slots and progress), Upgrades, Configuration and Info (a short in-game guide). The box at the top right always says what the machine is doing, and when it stops, why. Hover any slot, gauge or button for help. Machine screens walks through it.
Sides and automation#
Each face of a machine can take things in, give things out, do both, or do nothing; you set this on its side panel. With auto-output on, a machine pushes what it makes into whatever is beside it, so two machines side by side can work as a line without pipes. Side configuration explains it once for every machine.
The Calibration Tablet#
Crafting Table

Enthalpy's wrench. Use it on a machine to turn it; sneak and use it to pick the machine up, keeping its power, upgrades and settings. Other mods' wrenches work the same way.
Upgrades#
Tier kits (Tempered, Fortified, Luminous, Harmonic) make a machine faster and bigger and open module slots; modules tune it, trading speed against cost or adding more lanes. Upgrades and modules has the details.
Made for packs#
- Recipes take ingredients by their common tags, so copper, tin or steel from any mod works.
- When a recipe makes something many mods add, it gives you the version from a mod you already have.
- Anything that needs another mod (its fish, its crystals, its alloys) only appears when that mod is installed. Compatibility lists what turns on with what.
- With JEI, every Enthalpy recipe is browsable, mutations and fish yields included; with Jade, looking at a machine shows its state.
Numbers on this site#
Numbers with a dotted underline, like 40 FE/t, are Enthalpy's defaults. Packs can change them in the server config, so yours may differ.
