Tags
The tags Enthalpy defines and reads, the common tags its recipes rely on, and the tags it adds its own items to.
Enthalpy leans on tags so that other mods' items work without a recipe per mod. A datapack can add to
any tag below with a file at the same path under its own data/<namespace>/tags/
folder. Item tags live in tags/item (1.21 uses the singular), block tags in
tags/block, fluid tags in tags/fluid and enchantment tags in
tags/enchantment. A tag file with "replace": false (the default) adds to the
existing tag.
Tags Enthalpy defines#
These are Enthalpy's own switches. Add an entry to widen what a machine or tool accepts.
| Tag | Kind | What it controls | Default contents |
|---|---|---|---|
enthalpy:tank_glass_sources | Block | The glass that can form the tank of an Ecotone or a Spawning Basin. A block in the tag works only if it has no block entity of its own. | c:glass_blocks, plus the Chipped glass tags where Chipped is installed (they are optional entries). |
enthalpy:fish_food | Item | What a Spawning Basin eats, one item per breeding. | Wheat, carrots, potatoes and beetroots through their c:crops tags, and |
enthalpy:wrenches | Item | Tools that rotate and pick up Enthalpy machines, and set Ecotone ports, when used on them. Right-clicks with these tools are caught before the other mod's wrench does anything. | The c:tools/wrench and c:wrenches (both optional). |
enthalpy:aquatic_crops | Block | Which crops are aquatic. An Ecotone with a Kelp Module grows only these; one without it grows only the others. | |
enthalpy:howitzer_ammo | Item | What the | minecraft:fishes, c:foods/raw_fish and c:foods/cooked_fish. |
enthalpy:oily_fish | Item | Raw fish that press into the larger amount of fish oil in a Vortex Separator. Every other raw fish presses into the smaller amount, and the Candlefish into the most. | |
enthalpy:haddock_howitzer | Enchantment | The enchantments the Haddock Howitzer can take at an enchanting table or anvil. | Power, Punch, Flame, Multishot, Quick Charge and Homing Instinct. |
enthalpy:enchantable/haddock_howitzer | Item | The items that count as a Haddock Howitzer for enchanting. It is how a pack could allow the enchantments above on a second item. | The |
The tank glass tag is also read by the machines' structure checks: a glass block you add to it can become a tank and returns to its own block when the machine is taken apart.
Common tags Enthalpy reads#
These come from NeoForge's common tags (the c: namespace) and from the base game. Every
mod that follows the convention fills them, which is how Enthalpy takes other mods' items by default.
In recipes#
Processing recipes, mutation catalysts, Brine Accretor inputs and fish yields name common tags in these families. Where a recipe needs a metal that is not in your pack, the tag is empty and the recipe does not load; see load conditions.
| Family | Examples | Used for |
|---|---|---|
c:ores/* | c:ores/coal, c:ores/tin | Triturator inputs. |
c:raw_materials/* | c:raw_materials/tin | Triturator and Eddy Smelter inputs. |
c:ingots/* | c:ingots/copper, c:ingots/bronze | Eddy Smelter inputs and results. |
c:nuggets/* | c:nuggets/iron, c:nuggets/steel | Mutation catalysts and fish yields. Any item in c:nuggets is a nugget to an Ecotone's Infusion Module. |
c:dusts/* | c:dusts/tin, c:dusts/redstone | Triturator results and Eddy Smelter inputs. |
c:storage_blocks/* | c:storage_blocks/diamond, c:storage_blocks/allthemodium | Brine Accretor inputs and mutation catalysts. |
c:gems/* | c:gems/quartz, c:gems/fluix | Catalysts and fish yields. |
| Others | c:sands, c:seeds, c:glass_blocks, c:ender_pearls, c:slime_balls, c:obsidians, c:rods/blaze | Individual recipes. |
In behaviour#
c:foods/raw_fish: the fish an Ecotone and a Spawning Basin accept, and the fish a Vortex Separator presses for oil. Add a fish to it and both work.c:storage_blocks/salt: what the Salt Pan makes. The output follows preferred outputs.c:dusts/wood: the sawdust the Kerf Mill makes.minecraft:planksandminecraft:logs: the Kerf Mill reads them to turn a log into planks and sawdust.c:nuggets: see above; an Infusion Module treats these yields differently from others.c:bosses(entity types): weapon effects that hold or stun a mob skip these.minecraft:waterandminecraft:lava(fluids): the fluids the water tanks and the lava tanks accept. A lava source under a Salt Pan, or a litminecraft:campfiresblock, heats it.
Fluid tags the engines and Reaction Vat read#
Fuel data maps and Reaction Vat recipes key on fluid tags, so any mod's fluid with the tag works. The
tags include c:crude_oil, c:plantoil, c:ethanol, c:biodiesel,
c:gasoline, c:steam and c:molten_salt, and the engine maps list
others, such as c:diesel and c:hydrogen. See
Igneous, ignition and kettle fuels.
Tags Enthalpy adds its items to#
So that other mods' machines and recipes treat Enthalpy's items as their own kind, Enthalpy adds them to these tags.
| Tag | Kind | Enthalpy adds |
|---|---|---|
c:foods/raw_fish | Item | Every bred raw fish, and a custom fish. |
c:foods/cooked_fish | Item | Every cooked bred fish. |
minecraft:fishes | Item | Every bred fish, raw and cooked. |
c:dusts with c:dusts/iron, c:dusts/gold, c:dusts/copper, c:dusts/salt, c:dusts/wood | Item | Iron, Gold and Copper Dust, Salt and Sawdust. |
c:storage_blocks/salt (and c:storage_blocks) | Item and block | The Salt Block. |
c:fertilizers | Item | Fish Meal. |
c:gunpowders | Item | Glycerin. |
c:tools/wrench | Item | The Calibration Tablet. |
c:tools/melee_weapon and minecraft:swords | Item | The Kingfish Katana. |
c:crude_oil, c:plantoil (vegetable oil and fish oil), c:ethanol, c:biodiesel, c:gasoline, c:steam, c:molten_salt | Fluid | The matching Enthalpy fluid and its flowing form. |
minecraft:mineable/pickaxe | Block | Every machine. |
curios:enthalpy | Item | The Tackle Satchel, for its Curios slot. |
minecraft:in_enchanting_table | Enchantment | Homing Instinct. |
Because Fish Oil is in c:plantoil, it works anywhere vegetable oil does, including the
Reaction Vat.
